The We Cannot Wait Project (WCW) provides a comprehensive training manual that empowers women’s rights organizations, groups and activists in the Greater Horn of Africa (GHoA) in their efforts to define and champion gender equality in the political, legal, and socio-cultural spheres in their respective countries.

SIHA’s consortium members and their networks remain committed to expanding space for public discourse, coalescing agendas and building movements that seek to transform women’s lives in line with their indigenous feminist values. This includes developing a common understanding of gender equality in ensuring that potential supporters and allies who are hesitant about its implications can fully engage.

Borne of the social justice movement, the Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA) Network is an indigenous African women’s rights network with a soul. We are convinced beyond any doubt that if African women are given the space, they will drive change in this region and beyond. Defying presumptions about African women, SIHA has been carried on the shoulders of numerous African women’s rights activists and has been sustained by their relentless commitment to their cause.
